My Fairy Garden

If you follow me on instagram then you have probably seen your fair share of my fairy garden. But those photos were only with everything randomly placed until I finally had everything I needed to rearrange the flowers and place everything inside it. So finally, here it is completed!

I decided to do gnomes on one side and fairies on the other and I am pretty pleased with how that turned out. :) Also I did this all while it was sprinkling and I'll have to get some more detailed shots and share when it's sunny out.

Kitchen table - Before and After!

If you follow me on IG then you've already seen my new table but you haven't seen the before! Our kitchen is small and we don't have a dinning room. So before my husband and I found the perfect table we just had a kitchen island with two bar stools and we used that for eating on (okay, we mainly sat in the living room and watched tv). But I really wanted a nice small table to have breakfast and dinner at - so the hunt began! I ended up searching high and low online trying to find the right size and the best deal. I ended up finding it on Walmart.com with free shipping (but we upgraded for $4) and the total was around $165 after tax and upgraded shipping! It's the perfect size for us and we couldn't be happier with it!

Here is the before and after!

DIY "silk" flower vase.. Kinda

I've been getting more and more into flowers. They're so elegant and add such a nice touch to any room. But I can be a bit picky about them. Some look really cheap and most of the ones that don't are too expensive in my book. I've been eyeing a few silk arrangements that come in a vase with faux water and it just makes them look that much more realistic. I wish the price tag was as realistic for me as they look! Here is an example of one I was eyeing for some time.

As you can see the price tag is a bit hefty! Plus, they're a little shorter than what I had in mind. On a whim I checked out some flowers in Walmart and to my surprise they had some new ones. They have a stem that looks pretty realistic which caught my eye and I decided to get three bushes of them ($2 each) and a $2 vase (dollar tree also has some for $1) and just placed them in the vase after adding in about an inch of water. They look so similar and I'm very pleased with the $8 price tag that I could care less that they're not silk and that once the water evaporates I'll have to add more every so often!

Marshalls haul!

Recently I went into Marshalls to check out some of there home decor. I seem to always find something in there because they have beautiful pieces and such great prices! So I decided I would show you all what I got. This haul cost $38 and some change.

The teapot was $4.99, the chicken creamer was $3.99, the cake plate stand was $12.99, the throw pillow was on sale from $20 to $16.99, and the apron was $9.99 so something or maybe a few things were on sale and I didn't realize until they rung me up! Also it's hard to see from the photo but the apron says "I always have two dinner choices Take it or Leave it" :)

Rustic Barn Sign

For Valentine's Day I told my husband I didn't want flowers or any of the typical gifts. I just wanted some home decor items. Mainly I wanted something large to fill in a empty space in our kitchen that I could decorate. I decided on a cube organizer because it was the cheaper option but still exactly what I wanted! Ever since it arrived I've been having so much fun finding new things to add on it and my most recent find is this amazing little wooden rustic barn sign! I purchased it from Etsy from TheMontanaHomeStead and they have such amazing wooden signs that it was hard picking just one! This one is perfect for where I wanted to put it though and I'm so glad I decided on it! It came in three different sizes but the smallest size was perfect and only $5! It's made from actual barn wood (they kept wood from an old barn that was torn down) and it came ready to hang which is nice.

Here is where I decided to put it -

That Mercury Glass look on a budget!

I love Mercury glass. It's beautiful, it's elegant, it's amazing and it's pricey! But you can get the look and not break your budget! Here are some of my Mercury glass looking pieces that I've found at a great price ! First up is this gorgoeus candle holder. I've seen these many times on Pinterest and anytime I searched for one it was just too much. If I found the right price online the shipping and handling fees weren't doing it for me. I ended up finding this one at Marshalls right under $10!

My most recent find is a lamp. I've been searching for one that didn't cost an arm and a leg for a long time now and I was having a hard time. I decided one day while doing some shopping at Walmart to check out the home decor, because how can I not check out the home decor anywhere I go? Just browsing around and out of the corner of my eye I spot it! I glance down at the price and see it's $19! Really? Could it be for a different item? No! It was the real price! I was so excited I just had to get it! I was a little iffy about the price of the shade (just under $16) but for $35 it's still a great price and I'm so happy with my lamp and so glad I found it! They only had two left and one was broken. So what Mercury glass items do you have in your home? And where did you find them?
